Prospect Rules
Note: The LMs are not lawyers and, thus, imperfections and loopholes in the language may exist. Therefore, if the technical language of a rule doesn't fit with the intent of the rule, the LMs reserve the right to amend and enforce said rule retroactively conforming to the intent.
1. A prospect is defined as a player who has accumulated LESS THAN 130 CAREER MAJOR LEAGUE At-Bats for position players, and LESS THAN 50 CAREER MAJOR LEAGUE Innings Pitched.
2. You own the rights' to your prospect until one of these scenarios happen
a) Prospect surpasses said limits above (48 hours to add to Active Roster or forfeit rights)
b) You trade prospect
c) You decide to drop prospect to make room for another(there will be a thread to post)
d) Player surpasses Single-A requirement and must be promoted or dropped
3. Prospect Rosters will consist of 12 slots. You can add/drop and even trade at your leisure. There will be a chat for posting of any adds or drops, and any prospects involved in trades must be posted at the time trade is accepted. Any prospect add or promotion/demotion cost $1, trades are free.
4. A prospect that you own can be shipped back and forth from your Prospect Roster to your Active Roster as long as ESPN has said prospect in their system. And of course as long as said prospect is still under the limits. This transaction will also be a $1 fee for each PROMOTION and DEMOTION.
5. Every June/July we will have a short 2 round prospect draft for all the new prospects coming into the league via the Ammatuer Draft in real life. Draft order will be determined by the inverse order of last year's regular season standings. Draft WILL NOT snake. Any un-owned prospect is eligible to be drafted as long as they are signed to a Major League Organization.
6. Often in Major League Baseball there are International Signings. These players sign almost any time of the year. How we will handle this is a thread on the league page will be created. Teams will have 72 hours from the time the signing was made official to post a bid of REAL money. Once a bid is started, the bidding will last 24 hours. Highest bidder wins rights to player. This money will go into the Acquisition $$$ pot. If no bid then player becomes a regular old Free Agent.
7. AAAA Roster: * player must be added BEFORE he surpasses 130 ABs or 50 IP for their career at the Major League Level
* Each team will have three AAAA roster spots in addition to your Prospect Roster
* cost $10 to add player to AAAA roster
* player can remain on this roster for 1 calendar year (365 days)
* while on this roster player can not be added to Active ESPN Roster
* once a player is promoted to a AAAA he can not be demoted nor added to a prospect roster. He is no longer eligible for prospect roster.
* In the event of a trade the acquiring owner will inherit AAAA player's current situation.
* to activate player, whether it's promotion to Active ESPN Roster, or even DROP will cost $5.
*Expiration of a AAAA does not cost $5.
8. Single A Roster. Each team will own a Single-A roster, this roster will consist of Four roster spots. Players are ONLY eligible for this roster via a ROOKIE DRAFT, not thru trade, add, or Bid. Players are only eligible for this roster for 2 calendar years. For example if you draft Phil Urban, SS, A's in 2017, by the conclusion of the 2019 draft you need to either promote him to AAA, AAAA, or your Active Roster, or cut him entirely.
