Today wraps up our last day with our aces. Just like every other day we had close games, an extra inning thriller, and some lopsided scores. We are half way through the regular season and it will be curious to see if the final playoff standings reflect what the midpoint shows. Lets take a look! Phil's Red Sox 5 Degaglia's Yankees 4 F/10The rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox is well documented and now we have the first chapter in the virtual rivalry. The first game was a classic with Phil’s Red Sox edging out Degaglia's Yankees for the victory in what was the game of the day. The Red Sox got the lead in the 3rd inning with a Bryce Harper solo homer. Carlos Correa had a monster game and hit his first homer of the game in the 5th inning to extend the lead. Correa followed it with a RBI double in the 7th to give the Sox a 3-1 lead. One of the hottest bats in the first half was Xander Bogaerts and he continued that with a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 8th off of Mark Melancon to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead. The first batter in the 9th inning was Carlos Correa and he hit his second homer of the game off of Carlos Martinez to tie the game and send it to extras. In the 10th inning Trea Turner hit a RBI triple and Kenley Jansen closed it out for the victory. Prior's Tigers 9 Tom's Blue Jays 5Aaron Nola pitched 8 solid innings and the Tigers offense got out to a big lead and never looked back. Charlie Blackmon started the game in the 1st inning with a solo shot. In the 4th Max Kepler and Cavan Biggio got RBI singles. Michael Conforto expanded the lead in the 5th with a 2 run homer. Blackmon hit his second homer of the game in the 7th and Rafael Devers got on the board with a homer as well. The Blue Jay offense woke up in the 9th inning with a 2 run double from Robinson Cano and a 3 run double from Daniel Vogelbach but the lead was too much. Bharath's Angels 4 Jon's Indians 3Two teams at the top of the standings did battle and it was a close game late. Jon's Indians got a 3 run homer from Josh Donaldson in the 1st inning off of deGrom but that was the only offense they would get in the game. The Angels got a solo homer from Joc Pederson in the 3rd inning and a Yasmani Grandal 2 run homer in the 5th to tie the game. In the bottom of the 7th, Carlos Santana hit his first homer of the season to give the Angels the lead. The Indians had a chance against Hader in the 9th when they had 1st and 2nd and nobody out but Hader got Brantley to fly out and Wilson Contreras and LeMahieu to strike out to end the game and seal the victory for Bharath's Angels. Chris's Twins 6 Justin's Mariners 3Chris's Twins kept the game tied against Stephen Strasburg and were able to get into the Mariners pen where they were able to get the lead and the victory. The Twins got the lead in the 3rd inning on a Ramon Laureano RBI double but Andrew McCutchen hit a 2 run homer in the 4th to give Strasburg the lead. The Twins got the lead in the 6th off of Strasburg thanks to a Juan Soto solo shot and Yasiel Puig RBI double. The Mariners tied the game on Giancarlo RBI triple. Strasburg left the game tied and the Twins got RBI hits from Kevin Newman and Austin Riley to give them the lead and the victory. Billy's Orioles 7 Josh's White Sox 4Billy's Orioles got out to a 7-0 lead and were able to hold off Josh's White Sox comeback to get the victory. Josh Bell started the scoring in the 1st inning with a RBI triple. Ronald Acuna and Mike Moustakas hit homers to extend the lead to 4-0. In the top of the 5th the White Sox had bases loaded with one out but Odorizzi got out of it by striking out Eddie Rosario and Alex Bregman. In the bottom of the inning Jorge Soler and Marcus Semien got RBI hits to extend the lead to 7-0. Yoan Moncada, Rosario, and Franciso Mejia hit solo homers but Yusmeiro Petit shut the door in the 9th to close out the win. Daren's Astros 4 Eddy's Royals 2On paper these are two of the most potent offenses in the league but it was the pitching that was the story and got Daren's Astros the victory. Jose Ramirez homered in the bottom of the 2nd to give the Royals the lead. Jose Abreu and Ohtani got RBI hits in the 4th to make it a 3-1 game. Max Muncy got a RBI single in the bottom of the 6th but J.T. Realmuto hit a solo shot in the 7th for insurance.
