With the playoffs around the corner we had the most insane game of the season and also had another long extra inning affair. Leaving today we now have three teams that have punched their post season tickets and we have three teams tied for the last two playoff spots. We have another three teams that are just a game out but with two games left they are going to need some help. Let's take a look. Bharath's Angels 5 Phil's Red Sox 2Mike Clevinger outpitched Madison Bumgarner and Bharath's Angels are one step closer to clinching a first round bye while Phil's Red Sox despite the loss, still control their own destiny. The Red Sox got out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Brian Dozier and Buster Posey RBI hits. In the top of the 4th the Angels took the lead on a Joey Gallo RBI double and a Nelson Cruz 2 run homer. Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger added RBI hits later in the game for insurance. The win gives Angels the split in the season series with the Red Sox. Tom's Blue Jays 5 Justin's Mariners 4Tom's Blue Jays got the victory that pretty much eliminated Justin's Mariners from the playoffs. Miguel Sano started the scoring in the 1st inning with a two run homer. Jean Segura hit a RBI single in the top of the third to cut into the lead but the Blue Jays got Sano's second homer of the game and a Justin Smoak homer to extend the lead to 5-1. Matt Olson hit a solo homer in the 7th to cut into the lead. In the top of the 9th Drew Pomeranz got into all sorts of trouble. He gave up a Stanton RBI double and walked Andrew McCutchen with the bases loaded to cut the lead to 5-4. Pomeranz got Corey Seager and Sean Murphy to strike out to end the game. The win gives the Blue Jays the split in the season series against the Mariners. Degaglia's Yankees 18 Billy's Orioles 17 F/10WOW. This game is by far our craziest game of the season. It was the game of the day and probably the season. It's going to be my longest recap so strap yourself in. This game featured big innings and a bunch of homers but in the end it was Degaglia's Yankees that came out on top. The Orioles got out to a 6-0 lead in the 1st inning thanks to bases loaded walks to Jorge Soler and Anthony Rizzo. Mike Moustakas cleared the bases with a 3 run double and Wilson Ramos closed out the inning with a RBI double. The Yankees answerer right back with a 6 run first inning of their own. Manny Machado started it with a 2 run double and Eloy Jimenez drove him in with a RBI single. XanderBogaerts tied the game at 6 with a 3 run homer. Moustakas hit a 2 run single in the 2nd inning but Yordan Alvarez tied it with his first homer of the game. The Orioles got 4 runs in the 3rd inning thanks to RBI hits from Ronald Acuna, Josh Bell, Rizzo, and Moustakas and that gave them a 12-8 lead. The Yankees cut it to 12-10 when Eloy Jimenez hit a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 4th. The Orioles got solo homer from Brandon Lowe in the 6th to give them a 13-10 lead. Then the 7th inning came and they Yankees batted around scoring 7 runs on RBI hits from J.D. Martinez, Eloy Jimenez, Bogaerts and a 3 run homer from Yordan Alvarez which was his second of the game. The Yankees entered the 9th inning with a 17-13 lead but Anthony Rizzo hit a 2 run homer off of Daniel Hudson to cut it to 17-15. Moustakas hit a 2 run homer off of Carlos Martinez to tie the game. Moustakas finished the game going 4/6 with a homer and 8 RBIs. In the bottom of the 10th, Yordan Alvarez walked it off with his third homer of the game. It was a tough loss for the Orioles but they still find themselves tied for a playoff spot at the end of the day. The win gives the Yankees the sweep in the season series against the Orioles. Prior's Tigers 6 Eddy's Royals 1Both teams came into this game with a lot to play for but it was Prior's Tigers that got the win and kept their hopes for a first round bye alive. The Royals got a run in the 1st inning on a Ketel Marte solo homer but that would be the only run they scored. The Tigers got RBI hits from Bryan Reynolds and Paul Goldscmidt to take the lead in the 5th. In the 6th Francisco Lindor hit a solo homer. The Tigers got insurance runs in the 7th on a 2 run homer from Max Kepler and a RBI double from Lindor. The win clinches a playoff spot for the Tigers and gives them the split in the season series with the Royals. Josh's White Sox 5 Chris's Twins 4 F/18This was a crazy extra innings affair with a lot of stranded runners especially in the extra frames. Josh's White Sox got the win which put both teams one game out of a playoff spot. Juan Soto got the Twins a RBI double in the 4th to give them the lead. Whit Merrifield hit a 2 run homer in the top of the 6th but Yasiel Puig answered right back for the Twins with a 2 run double. In the 7th inning the White Sox retook the lead on Eugenio Suarez solo homer and a Yoan Moncada RBI double. Omar Navares tied the game in the bottom of the 9th but the Twins stranded the bases loaded to send the game to extras. Both teams had their chances in extra inning but finally it was Fransico Mejia getting a RBI single in the top of the 18th to secure the victory. The win gives the White Sox the split in the season series with the Twins. Daren's Astros 1 Jon's Indians 0Daren's Astros came into this game a game behind the Indians and got the win they needed thanks to another great pitching performance from Gerrit Cole. The Astros got their lone run on a RBI double in the first inning from Gleybar Torres. Both team had opportunities to score but the pitching for both teams came through. Michael Brantley had a shot in the 9th inning with 1st and 2nd but he grounded into a double play to end the game. The win gives the Astros the split in the season series with the Indians.
