Day 3 featured the last undefeated teams falling and a winless team getting their first win of the season. We had a mix of a couple of blowouts and a couple of stellar pitching performances. A couple of aces that have pitched great suffered their first losses and Anthony Rizzo is no longer on fire. Let's take a look at the days results! Chris's Twins 12 Phil's Red Sox 3Things were looking great for the Red Sox. Verlander sat down the first 6 men in order and Aaron Hicks hit a 3 run homer to give him the lead. Then the bottom of the 3rd inning happened. The Twins scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Verlander gave up 9 runs capped off by a Ramon Laureano grand slam. John Means came in to relieve a struggling Lamet to earn the victory. Josh's White Sox 4 Jon's Indians 3Josh's White Sox were able to get in the win column for the first time this season at the expense of Jon's Indians winless record. This game provided the most excitement on the day and was the game of the day. Marcell Ozuna opened the scoring for the White Sox. Jeff McNeil hit a 2 run shot in the bottom of the 6th to give the Indians the lead and. Amir Garrett came on and gave up a RBI triple to Alex Bregman followed by a RBI double from Eugenio Suarez to give the White Sox the lead and the victory. Prior's Tigers 4 Daren's Astros 1Daren's high powered offense continue their early season struggles as they were shut down by a dominating 8 innings of 1 run ball with 11 Ks from Aaron Nola. The Astros got out to the lead thanks to a J.T. Realmuto RBI double but in the bottom of the 5th Prior's offense woke up thanks to a 2 run double from Cavan Biggio and a 2 run homer from Franciso Lindor. Degaglia's Yankees 9 Eddy's Royals 3Degaglia's Yankees were out scoring a bunch of runs early again. J.D. Martinez hit a 2 run homer in the 1st inning for the second consecutive day. Gary Sanchez added a 2 run shot of his own and Xander Bogaerts fell a triple shy of the cycle to back 7 quality innings from Carlos Carrasco. Freddie Freeman homered twice in a losing effort for Eddy's Royals. Billy's Orioles 4 Tom's Blue Jays 2Wilson Ramos and Tom Murphy homered for their respective squads and it looked like the only offense was going to come from the catchers for most of the game. In the top of the 9th Billy's Orioles tacked on an insurance run. Justin Smoak homered in the bottom of the 9th but it wasn't enough. Masahiro Tanaka relieved an injured Jake Odorizzi and pitched 4.2 innings of 1 run ball to earn the win. Justin's Mariners 3 Bharath's Angels 2Jacob deGrom is human. He made one mistake and was outdueled by the Mariners Stephen Strasburg. Mark Canha hit a 3 run homer off of deGrom to lead his team to victory. The Angels had a big opportunity with the bases loaded and 1 out in the bottom of the 3rd inning but were only able to muster RBI walks from Yasmani Grandal and Kris Bryant. Corey Knebel, Tony Watson, and Will Smith pitched scoreless 7th, 8th, and 9th innings to lock down the victory for the Mariners. Standings
